National Read To Your Child Day

During this time, neural pathways are forming throughout the brain. While children of a younger age are not able to read themselves, studies have shown that being read to on a regular basis helps with development.

One study conducted by the American Academy of Pediatrics used MRI technology to visualize preschooler’s brains as they listened to stories on headphones. They found that the areas associated with visualization and language had significant activity.
